Sterling Math and Science Foundation is committed to increasing third through fifth graders’ interest in and exposure to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum. Our focus is to provide economically disadvantaged and underrepresented elementary students with STEM-related educational experiences through STEM camps, virtual learning, and hands-on creativity.
SM&S Foundation contributes to supplemental learning resources currently for three of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Title I Schools.
STEM education at the elementary level creates a pathway to science, technology, engineering and math careers that increases diversity in the respective industries. STEM develops, preserves, and disseminates knowledge and skills that convey personal, economics, and social benefits.
With the help of generous donors, we have provided STEM summer camp scholarships to over 160 elementary students. These experiences not only plant the "seed of interest", but help keep the children on track for success during the school year.
